The Hearing Center

The Hearing Center at Eastern Connecticut Ear, Nose & Throat is a full-service audiology and hearing aid center, performing hearing testing and hearing aid evaluations on adults and children. Our audiologists have over five decades of hands-on experience and have helped thousands of Eastern Connecticut residents benefit from our expertise, high-quality products, and efficient, caring service.

What happens at a hearing evaluation?

In conjunction with the physicians at Eastern Connecticut Ear, Nose & Throat, audiologists Katherine Audet and Elyse Kirschblum perform diagnostic audiological evaluations and hearing tests.

Audiologists can also perform a video otoscopy to provide a detailed view of your ear canal. If necessary, a computerized hearing aid analysis—or Real Ear Measurement—can be conducted to determine how much sound amplification a hearing aid needs to provide.

The Hearing Center also offers earwax removal, also known as cerumen management. The removal of impacted earwax is sometimes enough to resolve a hearing problem; this procedure is also required for some procedures, such as fitting a hearing aid.

These hearing aids are designed to work with your devices to deliver the audio from phone calls, music, videos, and more, all directly to your ears with pristine sound quality and no background whistling or buzzing.

We also offer hearing aids which can communicate wirelessly with your TV.

What products and services are provided by the Hearing Center at Eastern Connecticut Ear, Nose & Throat?

We carry all Starkey products! We offer a full line of hearing aids, specializing in digital hearing aid technology. We also provide assistive listening devices and loaner hearing instruments. The Hearing Center provides a number of hearing aid services including follow-up fine tuning visits to ensure maximum benefits, repair and cleaning services, and premium batteries and other accessories.

We also provide custom earplugs for water protection as well as noise protection molds for patients routinely exposed to high noise levels, such as construction workers, musicians, and sportsmen.
