Eastern Connecticut Ear, Nose & Throat, P.C. has been providing expert pediatric and adult ear, nose and throat care to the Windham, Norwich, and Waterford communities for over 35 years. Our physicians all live in Eastern and Southeastern Connecticut and are proud to be active in their communities. Our physicians are members of the Windham Region Chamber of Commerce and The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut. In addition to attending staff privileges at Windham and Backus Hospitals, each serves on various committees and boards at both hospitals. All four physicians are partners at River Valley Ambulatory Surgery Center in Norwich.

Our practice supports a number of local community initiatives including Windham High School Athletics, The Covenant Souk Kitchen and the Gemma E. Moran United Way Food Pantry.

Stephen Rouse M.D., F.A.C.S. 

Dr. Rouse received his B.A., cum laude from Amherst College and M.D. from The University of Rochester School of Medicine. He completed his post-graduate surgical training at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital and Otolaryngology training in a combined program with Tufts New England Medical Center, Boston University’s Hospital, and The Lahey Clinic. After residency, he completed a preceptorship in facial plastic surgery with Richard Webster, M.D. while in Boston. Dr. Rouse is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, a Fellow of The American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has attending staff privileges at Windham and Backus Hospitals. Dr. Rouse has been recognized as a Top Doc by Connecticut Magazine four years in a row. Dr. Rouse and his wife Robin have lived in the Windham area for over 30 years. They have two grown children who attended public and private regional schools.

Dr. Green received his B.A., magna cum laude from LaSalle University and M.D. from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his post-graduate surgical training at the Pennsylvania Hospital and Otolaryngology training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He is certified by The American Board of Otolaryngology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has attending staff privileges at Windham and Backus Hospitals. Jerilyn S. Allen, M.D.

Dr. Allen graduated magna cum laude from Boston College and received her M.D. from the University of Connecticut where she completed her residency training. She is Fellowship trained in Facial Plastic Surgery and received the 1997 John Orlando Roe National Award. She is certified by The American Board of Otolaryngology, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, and has attending staff privileges at both Windham and Backus Hospitals. Dr. Allen has been recognized as a Top Doc by Connecticut Magazine four years in a row. Dr. Allen and her husband Todd live in East Lyme with their two children and Great Danes.

William T. Culviner, M.D., F.A.C.S. 

Dr. Culviner graduated magna cum laude from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. He obtained his medical degree as a U.S. Naval Officer from USUHS: F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. His internship was completed at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. He completed his residency at the National Capital Consortium of Walter Reed Army Medical Center and National Naval Medical Center. Dr. Culviner completed his distinguished Naval career at the Naval Ambulatory Care Center in Groton, Connecticut where he served as the Head of the Department of Otolaryngology. Dr. Culviner is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, a Fellow of The American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has attending staff privileges at Windham and Backus Hospitals. Dr. Culviner has received HealthTap’s Top Doctor award for demonstrated expertise, excellence and care in the Hartford, CT Region. Dr. Culviner and his wife Jen live in East Lyme and have raised five children.

Elyse Kirschblum, M.A., CCC-A 

Ms. Kirschblum received her B.S. at the University of Vermont and her M.A. in Communication Disorders at the University of Connecticut. She is a certified member of the American Speech and Hearing Association. Ms. Kirschblum has 34 years of experience servicing infant through geriatric people. She is knowledgeable in assessing the need for hearing aid augmentation, fitting of the latest digital technology, and counseling patients and families on successful hearing aid use. Elyse is a graduate of NFA and has lived in the Norwich area most of her life. She has two grown daughters and enjoys hiking, kayaking, and playing tennis.

Katherine Audet, Au.D. 

Dr. Audet received her B.A., magna cum laude, in Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences from The University of Connecticut in 2017. She continued her education at UCONN, receiving her Doctorate in Audiology in 2021 and completed her clinical fellowship at Connecticut Ear, Nose and Throat Associates. Dr. Audet developed an interest in hearing loss at a young age, and became passionate about  how hearing impacts the overall well-being of a person.  She is particularly interested in diagnostic hearing evaluations, hearing aid evaluations, counseling patients and families and the fitting and management of assistive hearing devices.  Dr. Audet works closely with the physicians at ECENT to ensure the best possible hearing health of our patients. Dr. Audet lives in Eastern Connecticut and enjoys outdoor activities, reading and spending time with her family.  She is excited to provide audiologic services to patients throughout Eastern and Southeastern Connecticut.
